NC Drought Management Advisory Council

The North Carolina Drought Management Advisory Council website publishes quite a bit of information
about the current drought status as well as water conservation tips. This link will display the NCDMAC main page
which include a map of the current drought status of all counties in the state. You can use this
map in conjuction with the latest letter from Aqua North Carolina to determine the current
water usage restriction status.

Urban Horticulture Fact Sheet on deer resistant plants. It contains names of some of the best and worst plants
in several different categories for their attractiveness to the deer population.

interactive Website that lists and ranks deer resistant plants. It can be sorted, selected and searched
by ranking, plant types and plant names.

The Department of Horticulture Science at North Carolina State University published Horticulture Information
Leaflet 575 in October 2004 with more information on the effects of deer on certain types of plantings.
This publication also contains the common and botanical names of different plants and their likelihood to be
damaged by deer. It also contains some information on different repellents.
